I could definitely do with some help with the landing gear


I havent tried to use any animations within FFDd3d, so yet i know nothing about it Совсем запутался... From what i've seen... i'll be needing some help with it to... Гы-гы

I'm not sure what you mean by that... from blender to max and back?

Then I am assuming the landing gear and the doors have to be separated from the model? and the pivots added.But how do you do this in max?.ie which keys or icons do I press


To separate part of the mesh go to the big right panel, select Polygon

and click detach in the right panel

Now you got two separate objects and what remains is moving the pivot. This is also done in one of the many right panels...

...now you can move pivot of the selected object.

Улыбка The Courier itself has 1370 poly. The Engines on the other hand have abour 2500 each and were taken from one of my older models just for the purpose of seeing how the animation works.

This is a great idea. But how to do it? the engine rotation nor the extension animations are part of the model. And i don't know howto change them. So now entire exported 215/model.x extends and starts to rotate as in the original model when you retract the landing gear.

Well, i didn't wanted to go emotional but...
It was a long time ago, back in the turbulent year of 1989 when even I, a poor, underprivileged kid from the suburbs of Prague, got my first computer. From a dark cornershop in the worst part of city, owned by a wierd guy who never showed his face. For twenty chockolate bars, which at that time were more expensive than gold. I've brought home my very own weathered black box with grey rubber knobs. It had ZX-Spectrum written in white in the upper corner and in It i saw my future. From that day on i never left my basment...

...nowdays, 20 years later. I do sometimes go out for a drink. Ой, не могу!..

Yeah, i'm bringing it back. The feel of the pioneer days of computer gaming Гы-гы it's 80' Супер!

In USSR, at the end of 80th, Spektrum 48kb people independently assembling from details. For me was from the beginning of such and programs was loading from cassette tape recorder, and then I purchased drive appeared 5,25" and Spektrum 128! I remember now as I was then happy Улыбка


Concerning a Courier...
Create only a model 56. Do there and hull and fastenings to engines and engines. Do animation of rotation of engines. And all this in folder 56.
Folder 215 not touch in general, it can be eliminated.

OK, I understood finally. The problem is due to door itself, you doubt that buildings on the planets without atmosphere can have doors. It depends on view of this door Улыбка I mean if it looks like ordinary house door, then you are right. But if it is sluice, then it's OK.
By the way, are there any buildings on the planets without atmosphere? As far as I remember if atmosphere is absence, then all buildings are surrounded by the cupola... Am I right?

Factories and parts of the spaceport - no.

And they have ordinary looking doors?..
I guess every building should have door. For simplicity we can do all them as sluice, this will solve the problem.

Lack of atmosphere is not important in this question.
There is a planets with the cupola and the atmosphere.

For example - Ross 154. Perhaps - just some of the world are dangerous for walking. Ой, не могу!.. Улыбка
