Hi all!
I've found sources for Hellmod version 0.4a015 - seems to be the latest of 0.4. And Hellmod v0.4a.014. And HellMod v0.15a001 - very buggy!!! (changed naming method and aniso integration attempt).

Each archive contains hellmod folder. It contains everything.
About rebalancing - we've done it by modifying hardware properties, mass, and other stuff. As i figured out it's located somewhere in ffedat.asm (it was a long ago
About galaxy life expansion - it's done at FUNC_000868 and FUNC_000868_1 - in ffe.asm file.
NPC2NPC shooting - not yet completely done, but sometimes happend. Needs polishing. Located at ffemisc.c

Поставил FFE D3D Full Pack v1.12b + AndyJ v110a.
Подскажите глюк это или нет - вместо значка $ около цены товаров стоит буква у, например "у2100".

Well I needed to take a bit of a break from coding FFED3DAJ after v1.10, so I'm sorry for disappearing for a little while!
Thank you Steel for the HellMod sources, I have added a new .exe based upon v0.15a001. There were two crashes in the .asm that I found, one was known from Anisotropic, hopefully this build will be stable. MadRush please give it a test too and tell me if it seems ok
I have also added the journal translations from "Mission.dat - Newspapers (Perevod gazet).doc" into the game now. I am attaching a v1.11-beta1 build to get some feed back on this before a proper release!
To use the tanslations, edit ffed3daj.cfg and set:
enableTranslations=1
And:
TranslationsPath=TRANSLATIONS\RU
If there are any problems, this can be set to identify the journal story number: displayJournalStoryId=1
The stories can be found in the .txt files inside the Translations\RU folder. Please make any corrections necessary!
Text starting with '[' such as [OoL1([FmL2,[FfL2) should not be edited.
Some tests are inserted from "literals.ini". Please compare EN\literals.ini with RU\literals.ini.
e.g.
EN\literals.ini: 01d493877d7a7912b1dad8699d93a6db=Research Institute
RU\literals.ini: 01d493877d7a7912b1dad8699d93a6db=исследовательскую базу
Translations: Please let me know if they are ok, or if there are any problems!

Which HellMod version had these characteristics?
I downloaded "ffehell.rar" from elite-games.ru and ffehell04a014.exe appears to have the same values as my build. Ships_Hell.xls also shows Panther 16,53 and Viper MK2 46,55 for maximum JMP value.
Are you using a save game from the Anisotropic mod perhaps?
As far as I can tell, HellMod v04a014 and later sources have Hyperdrive values that matched FFE. Distances are calculated using these and divided by the hull mass of the ship.
I'm not able to see the differences you have found, but I have based the build on the latest version of the source code v0.15a001. I checked the 2 older versions for any differences, .
I'm assuming that the latest version has the ship & weapon characteristics that Helga and Steel finally decided on though?
To increase jump ranges, the Hyperdrives need to be edited to increase their power. Anisotropic increased some by around 60% compared to FFE.
FFED3DAJ already allows ship data to be altered (e.g. hull mass, number of missiles etc) but I've just added extra functionality for the next build so that you will also be able to edit the Hyperdrive values.
I have tested a set of values matching the Anisotropic mod and these then boost the Viper Mk2 range to 52,96. This will give a choice to play HellMod with FFE jump distances, or Anisotropic distances, or to make your own customisation!

Uneven planet surfaces in FFE are part of the problem: cities are placed without considering hills or valleys.
Cities are also large flat objects, placed onto a curved surface. Compare this to a book placed on top of a ball, it only touches at a small area.
Frontier also had these problems but the low resolution and few colours helped to hide it.
Houses are 'parts' of a larger single model and have no collision data. This was the same in Frontier also.

I think perhaps that Google translated this question badly?
I took a look anyway as I didn't remember the sound being very loud.
I found that with music playing, the engine noises couldn't actually be heard. So I guess your question was that the engine sound is being lost?
At first, I thought perhaps the sample was too quiet, but editing it made no difference. I then also realised that the sound doesn't just get drowned out, it actually stops...
After a little debugging I was able to discover that the original FFE code skips playing the engine sounds when music is also being played.
I think it's probably best to always be able to hear the engines, but as this was not the original FFE behaviour I've decided to make an optional fix that can be turned on or off by a new 'patch' setting in the .cfg file.

I forgot to ask. In v04.a014/a015 there was extra data at DATA_006807/6809 which then didn't appear in v0.15a001.

My knowledge of English and google does not allow properly understand and ask questions in general, everything is very nice, I think you and more experienced players, like Helgi, know better what to do to improve the process. GLFrontier to easily navigate around the planet, in a version without 3D acceleration ffe too easily, it could maneuver in military missions in the midst of hills, going from missiles and warships.
In hellmod.exe engine sound is not annoying, but ffewin28a7.exe and then strongly.

If you are already using v1.11 Beta 1, delete \Translations, before unzipping.
Edit ffed3daj.cfg with notepad.exe:
enableTranslations=1
TranslationsPath=TRANSLATIONS\RU
Also includes Translations for French (FR), German (DE) and Italian (IT). There is also a base English (EN) "translation" that can be used for reference, but also benefits from improved Journal story layouts.

I think that you may not have installed FFED3DAJ_v1.10_CoreFiles.zip which is required.
Probably Textures\Loading\Loadscreen.png etc is missing?
Let me know if that doesn't fix it
(I have updated the beta post to highlight that this is required)

уважаемые, поскольку благодаря выдающемуся энтузиазму AndyJ и упорной работе означенного имеется некий завершённый на данный момент результат, то надо бы тем, кто в курсе, написать план установки этого дела на комп с нуля.
То есть, даже два плана - план "как красивше"
и план "как производительнее".
А то читаешь все 8 страниц и путаешься - чего актуально, а чего устарело.
