Hi s20dan
just wanted to ask how you got the models into Blender,as I can't get Blender x importer to do anything?.

Iam an idiot I've just realised what I've been doing wrong ctrl=f9
I also found you can use this 3d viewer http://www.teamxtcgames.com/3d_object_viewer.htm to view ffe3d
objects,then save as directx.Then Load the object into Blender.Gives a much better model with out the missing faces
unfortunately it do's not work the other way round,so Iam still looking for a soulation for getting the models back in the game.
Panda no use as I don't have a copy 3dmax.
question for you:
size of the ship?
I know you got the 0-10 tons=1500-1700 polygons ect.
but has there been any agreed scale for the ship?.

Round about:
(0-10) tons = (1500-1700) polygons,
(10-100) tons = (1700-2500) polygons,
(100-1000) tons = (2500-4300) polygons,
(1000-2425) tons = (4300-5700) polygons.

Thats a nice find pinback, I'll have to try that one.
I too was unable to export a model from blender back to the game. Its just the exporter that Blender has. You can probably install the 3dsmax trial just to export your models.
I have a question about a model that I have made.
Im very new to modelling, so this might be a noob question
I made the model by modifying the original WyvernExplorer model, and it has a problem where some of the panels are reflecting the wrong light.
For example, Some panels on the top reflect the light from the bottom and vice versa.
So if the sun is above the ship, you can see the reflection from the sun on the bottom of the ship, here is a pic:
Anyone know how I can fix this?

It only seems to happen when I use an original model and modify it.
If I make a model from scratch, then there doesn't seem to be any problem.

Thanks for the answer guys I think,I've got a better idea what to do now.
Is that a wood tex on the wyvern s20dan.
your problem with panels could it be something to do with the normal being the wrong way around?.
That's a good idea about max ,I will look into that

hehe, nah its my 'rusty metal gone wrong' texture Just wawnted something on it quick to get it in the game, thats why they look cr#p hehe.

Hehe, interesting way of putting it. Yeah I know they are sh#t I'll repost the model with working normals and some better textures later.

This is not sh#t... quite...
I saw the game ships painted similar way.
It just differs from original too much.

Truly, too much more repeating textures. It looks not solid.

Nice going s2dan.
like the worn look of the ship.
just looking at the pics,i would say the cockpit needs pull out of the model more and is the engine off set or is it just the angle of the pic?.
